Uganda Trip in 2010

Jan 21 – Jan 30, 2010

o    Uganda is slightly smaller than Oregon

o    23 million people in 2000, expecting 84 million in 2050

o    English is national language

o    Government is a republic

Pastor Mark and Ron Bostick traveled to Uganda during the above January dates.  They will left on a Thursday (12:35pm) and arrived at the Entebbe Airport (near Kampala) on Friday (8:40pm) thru Detroit and Amsterdam.  Uganda is 8 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time.

The goal of the trip was to determine how RLC can partner with the LCMU (Lutheran Church Mission in Uganda).  This trip will be the first step in building a relationship that will allow the needs of the region to be matched with the skills of RLC.  The goal is to send at least one Uganda mission team per year for five years.

While in Uganda, Pastor Mark and Ron traveled with Vicar Shauen Trump (LCMS Missionary) and Pastor Charles Bameka (LCMU pastor).  They traveled to 4 locations outside of Kampala the Uganda capital.  Pastor Charles and Vicar Shauen live in Kampala.  The different locations that were visited are marked with a RED NUMBER on the map above.  The itinerary for the individual days is listed below.  Click on the links in order to view pictures that were taken at that location.
