Every week, we meet guests at our worship services who are new to the area or looking for a church home. We invite you to learn more about Resurrection, our mission, vision, and congregational life by joining us for our next Discover Resurrection classes.

Discover Resurrection

During our time together, we will explore seven practices of faith and how Resurrection helps us nurture these disciplines in our personal lives, church family, and community:

  • Prayer
  • Bible Reading
  • Worship
  • Spiritual Gifts
  • Serving, Giving
  • Witnessing

We will review each discipline, coach on different practices, and share how we participate in these areas at Resurrection. We do ask if you are joining Resurrection (even if transferring from another congregation) to participate in this class as it helps you learn about our church life and how you can serve alongside us as a member of the RLC family.

After each Discover Resurrection class, a weekend is set aside for welcoming families into the Resurrection Family. In worship, each family is received with a brief Rite of Confession, and the congregation joins the new members in singing “Welcome to the Family.” After worship, there is a cookie reception for members to meet and greet one another.

Reserve your seat in Discover Resurrection by contacting Deb Oesterling, Connections Coordinator, at .

We are pleased our church family has made a connection with your family and, through Discover Resurrection, we hope to deepen those connections. We look forward to serving you and your family!

Discover the Faith Class

In departing words Jesus said, “Go and make disciples of all nations by baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and by teaching them to keep all I have commanded.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

The Discover the Faith class is all about the teaching that Jesus directed His Church to do, teaching that will lead to your baptism, or teaching of the baptized to make disciples. This class is for anyone who desires to join Resurrection, but does not have a background in the Lutheran tradition or those without any previous Christian teaching. The purpose of the class is to review the basics of Christianity (Christianity 101) from a Lutheran perspective.

During the 10 week study, we will use the Bible, class handouts, discussion, and follow-up readings. The next class is not yet scheduled.
